Freya's Gluten Free World
Freya's Gluten Free World is a UK based gluten-free lifestyle website and online shop focussing on recipes, advice, subscription boxes and products for coeliacs, specifically kids.
The initial brief was to develop a content rich website focussed on gluten free recipes and content with the ability to introduce eCommerce functionality. The website needed to be able to sell unique gluten free subscription boxes aimed at both children and adults. In addition to the subscription functionality, it was imperative for customers to also be able to purchase individual products.
New Website Build
With a focus on appealing to children with Coeliac disease, alongside parents looking to understand more about the disease, the branding and layout of the site had to reflect and work for a wide target market. Utilising brand guidelines and assets, the site was developed with icons and bold colours to appeal to a younger audience, while the functionality was simple to aid conversion. In addition, a bespoke interactive process was created to help users choose the most appropriate subscription box based on age and preferences.
The subscription products utilise Shopify app functionality, but have been customised to fit the Freya's branding and styling. This allows customers to purchase a subscription box for themselves or as a gift for a child or adult. The time-frame for receiving boxes can be determined by the user and adding in a gift recipients name allows for personalised content to be included in their package, through integration with the fulfilment centre.
Custom Recipe Pages
Recipes are a key area for Freya's, to develop both useful content for customers and for people searching for gluten free recipe ideas. The recipe functionality has been set up to be easily created and updated by the Freya's team and is designed to simply display cooking and preparation times alongside serving suggestions. All pages on site were created with SEO in mind, with recipes at the forefront of this work. The recipe pages now equate to 16% of all page views.
